The digital full arch workflow has matured to the point where a predictable, aesthetically driven result can be planned before the first surgical step is taken.

This presentation follows a complete end-to-end protocol — beginning with a facially driven 2D smile design that establishes tooth position and smile architecture, then translating that design through 3D planning, prosthetically driven implant placement, and precise capture of implant positions at surgery, through to the design and manufacture of the immediate prosthesis.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how each stage connects, the communication touchpoints between clinician and laboratory that keep a case on track, and the practical steps that make immediate insertion predictable without compromising fit or aesthetics.

Digital workflows have transformed how we plan, capture, and communicate implant cases — but precision in the chair means nothing if the scan data doesn't translate reliably to the lab. Accurate scanning, digital workflows, and communication can drive predictable lab collaboration

This lecture takes a practical, workflow-first look at digital implant capture across the full complexity spectrum: from understanding how intraoral scanners actually work, to single implant workflows, through to full-arch AOX rehabilitation.

We begin with the end in mind — using SmileCloud real-time facial design to show why the restorative goal should define the capture strategy, not the other way around.

The fundamentals of digital scanning: how scanners generate surface data, what an STL mesh actually is, and where stitching and alignment errors occur — and how to prevent them.

Single implant workflows are explored: the evolution from analog impression copings to scanning the provisional directly, pontic site development, and printed chairside solutions.

At the full-arch level, we address different scan ‘data’ and the difference between intraoral scanning and photogrammetry (iCam), with new innovative scanbody systems (Straumann EXACT)
